Foreigner's Work Permit/Visa Point Scoring System

China’s new work permit system for foreigners was rolled out nationwide on April 1, 2017. The new system has introduced a three-tier talent grading system for foreigners. They are placed in either Tier A, B, or C, depending on the scores they earned under the point scoring system, or by meeting one of the requirements that can automatically places them in a given tier.

Authorities have transparently shared information on the three-tier talent grading system in public to help employers and foreigners understand qualification and tier category requirements for work permit.
